Shipping Incidents

This report, presented at the Local Government Association's Coastal Issues Special Interest Group in December 2008, has been prepared to stimulate a debate on the liabilities that shipping incidents can create for local government.  It makes a number of recommendations for action to reduce liability and increase protection for the coast.  The report is in draft form and comments are invited in order to allow the Special Interest Group to consider the report at its meeting in March 2009.

Please submit all comments to Aidan Winder, at Devon County Council.  He can be contacted on 01392 383019 or by e-mail on aidan.winder@devon.gov.uk.
