Beach Safety

The LGA Coastal Issues SIG would like to draw attention to a free Risk Assessment service offered by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI)

This free service is available to Local Authorities that have responsibilities for managing public bathing beaches. The service is also available to private beach-owners, where resources permit.

Click here for the specification for the risk assessment service.

The risk assessment can also consider disabled access on request and would review the provision of specific facilities for the disabled.

Also the assessment will cover mudflat where this is adjacent to a bathing beach, but would not extend to more remote and more expansive areas of mudflat.

For more information about the service please contact: lifeguards@rnli.org.uk
